EVENT:  CDOT Winter Conference

DESCRIPTION:  Theme:  Compliance Plus! DESCRIPTION:  Annual education & training event features pre-event recognition dinner (July 30), written examination, mandatory pre-trip vehicle inspections, and equipment operations skills tests in challenging obstacle courses for mid-range snowplow truck, tandem drive axle snowplow truck, and front-end loader.  Following the competition on July 31, awards ceremony will be held following lunch.  Hosted by Grand Junction Maintenance Section 2, Region 3.

AUGUST, 2007

EVENT:  26th Annual Tin Cup Scramble Golf Tournament
DATE:  August 12, 2007
LOCATION:  Hollydot Golf Course, Colorado City, CO
DESCRIPTION:  Annual event is hosted by CDOT maintenance forces, but is open to all.  Entry fee has been kept reasonable for many years - $60, which includes greens fees, cart, gift pack, and lunch.  Prizes will be awarded to the top three teams in each flight.  Family members and friends can share a barbeque lunch for $12.50 each.  Entries are due by August 3, so hurry!  Questions?  Call Charles Weber (719) 546-1230.  With no Laipply tournament this year, don't miss this opportunity to enjoy golf in the beautiful Colorado City/Rye valley.

EVENT:  Region 2 Christmas Party
DATE:  December 8, 2007
LOCATION:  Colorado State Fairgrounds Dining Hall Building, Pueblo, CO

EVENT:  80th Annual Colorado Transportation Conference
DATES:  Dec. 10-11, 2007
LOCATION:  Colorado Convention Center, Denver, CO
DESCRIPTION:  Annual event has been restructured and will be held in conjunction with the Governor's Blue Ribbon Transportation Panel.  One of the many highlights will be presentation of the 29th annual Roderick L. Downing Award for outstanding contributions to transportation in Colorado.  Save the dates now; more details will be announced in the near future.
