Q:  Where do I get my driver’s license renewed or vehicle registered?

A:   Driver’s licensing/vehicle registration is a function of the Colorado Department of Revenue, Department of Motor Vehicles.  

Q:  How do I apply for a job with CDOT?

A:   Information on CDOT job opportunities can be found by visiting the State of Colorado web site, or if you have a specific question, please e-mail us.  

Q:  How can I get a Colorado state highway map?

A:   To request a map, you can e-mail us or send your request to Colorado Department of Transportation, Public Information Office, 4201 E. Arkansas Ave., Room 277, Denver, CO 80222.  The maps are free of charge.

Q:  Where can I find information on E-470?

A:   E-470 is not a Colorado state highway and is instead managed by the E-470 Public Highway Authority.

Q:  How do I get oversized/overweight permits?

A:   You can visit CDOT’s Permit Section or call toll-free within Colorado (800)350-3765.  If you’re out-of-state or in the Denver metro area call (303)757-9539.

Q:  Where do I get a DOT number for my commercial truck?

A:  If your business will operate within Colorado only, you can visit the Colorado State Patrol website or call them at (303)273-1875 for an application.  If your business will operate interstate, you need to contact the Federal Highway Administration Motor Carrier Office at (303)969-6748.

Q:  Where can I find information on commercial vehicles or trucking regulations?

A:   The Colorado Motor Carriers Association web site has important information on safety training, vehicle inspections and driver paper work. 

Q:  Where do I find bus/light rail routes and scheduling for the Denver Metropolitan Area?

A:  Information on routes, scheduling, and prices can be found at the Regional Transportation District's (RTD) website.
