MOUNT EVANS HIGHWAY SET TO OPEN FRIDAY
CLEAR CREEK COUNTY – The Colorado Department of Transportation (CDOT) will open the Mount Evans Highway – State Highway 5 – for the season on Friday, May 23, at 7 a.m. The entire 15 miles from Echo Lake to the top of Mount Evans (14, 264 feet) will remain open through the summer to the summit parking area, weather permitting.
The road will be closed to all motor vehicle traffic on Tuesday, September 2, 2008.
