PROJECT SET TO START ON HIGHWAY 9
PARK COUNTY – A Colorado Department of Transportation (CDOT) project upgrading the 16 mile segment of State Highway 9 between Fairplay and Hartsel is scheduled to begin on Monday, June 23. Work includes asphalt paving, erosion control work, new signing and striping. Several slopes also will be flattened and four curve slopes will be modified to increase driver safety.
Drivers can expect delays up to 10 minutes as flaggers or a pilot car alternate one lane of traffic through the work zone from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m., Monday through Thursday and 7 a.m. to noon on Fridays. The speed limit will be reduced to 40 mph through the area during project hours.
Asphalt Paving Co. of Golden, CO is the contractor for the $3 million project. It is scheduled for completion in August 2008.
