TRAFFIC ADVISORY
DECK POUR FOR NEW BRIDGE TO CLOSE I-25 NEAR
128TH AVENUE NEXT WEEK
ADAMS COUNTY – On Sunday, April 13th, weather permitting, the Colorado Department of Transportation (CDOT) will close all lanes of northbound and southbound I-25 between 120th Avenue and 136th Avenue to pour the deck of the new 128th Avenue bridge over I-25. A single lane of I-25 in both directions will close at 7 p.m. with all lanes closing at 10 p.m. All lanes will reopen by 5:30 a.m. Monday.
During the full closure, a detour route will be in place which takes southbound motorists off I-25 at 136th Avenue and then over to Huron Street and then to 120th Avenue where access to southbound I-25 is available. Motorists on northbound I-25 will be taken off I-25 at 120th Avenue and then over to Huron Street and then to 136th Avenue where access to northbound I-25 is available.
The work is part of a project that replaces the existing 128th Avenue bridge over I-25 with one that is approximately 73 feet wide to accommodate two through lanes in each direction as well as a 10-foot sidewalk on each side. Jalisco International Inc. is the contractor for this $6.3 million project. The entire project will be complete by the end of June 2008.
