NEW CONSTRUCTION PROJECT
BRIGHTON BOULEVARD RESURFACING PROJECT UNDERWAY

DENVER – This week, the Colorado Department of Transportation (CDOT) started a resurfacing project on Brighton Boulevard (SH 265) between 47th Avenue and 54th Avenue. The project rotomills and paves a little over one mile of Brighton Boulevard in asphalt.

“This will be a very fast-moving project which means motorists will see a lot of activity for the next month,” said CDOT Project Engineer Ed Bullard. “The traffic impacts should be fairly minimal, but there will be a lot of construction equipment on site so it will be important for motorists to keep their speeds down through the work zone.”

Motorist can expect single lane closures Sunday through Thursday from 7 p.m. to 5:30 a.m. and Monday through Friday from 8:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Delays are possible so alternate routes are advised. CDOT would like to remind motorists to pay attention to the construction signs and flaggers and to “Slow for the Cone Zone.”

Brannan Sand and Gravel, Inc. is the contractor of this $374,000 project which includes guardrail repair, curb ramp installation, striping and signing. The project should be complete by mid-June 2008.
