NEW CONSTRUCTION PROJECT
RESURFACING PROJECT UNDERWAY ON KIPLING STREET
JEFFERSON COUNTY The Colorado Department of Transportation (CDOT) has begun a resurfacing project on Kipling Street (State Highway 391) between 6th Avenue and Colfax Avenue. The project will rotomill and pave one mile of Kipling Street in asphalt and repair some curb and gutter.
This project is part of our pavement management program in which we conduct work to improve the roadway surface without conducting major reconstruction, said CDOT Project Engineer Brenda Morales. We expect the project to move very quick, ultimately reducing the long-term impacts to traffic.
Throughout the project, the majority of the work will take place during daytime hours. Motorists can expect single lane closures Monday through Friday from 8:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. In addition, there may be some night work to allow crews to pave ramps and interchanges. Nighttime closures may take place Sunday through Thursday from 8 p.m. to 5 a.m.
CDOT would like to remind motorists to pay attention to the construction signs and flaggers and to Slow for the Cone Zone.
Brannan Sand and Gravel, Inc.. is the contractor of this $825,000 project, which should be complete by the end of June 2008.
