Volunteers to Help Rebuild Segment of C-470 Bike Trail

WHAT: A group of 25 volunteers from Kaiser Permanente will be helping the Colorado Department of Transportation (CDOT) rebuild a segment of the C-470 bicycle/pedestrian trail through Lone Tree. Five to seven sections of decorative rock wall paralleling the trail need repairs and the volunteers will be helping CDOT improve this area for the hundreds of users who travel it regularly. The volunteer program is part of Kaiser Permanente’s commitment to giving back to the community. The non-profit health plan supports employees in providing up to eight hours of paid volunteer work each month. This year, Kaiser Permanente employees have logged more than 10,000 hours of community service in Colorado.

WHEN: Friday, July 11, 2008, from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m.

WHERE: Northeast quadrant of C-470/Yosemite Street Interchange. The volunteers will be working along the segments that begin about 1000 feet east of Yosemite.

CONTACTS: CDOT – Bob Wilson, (303) 757-9431 or Betsy Jacobsen, (303) 757-9982. Kaiser Permanente – Amy Smith, (303) 344-7763
