TRAFFIC ADVISORY
GIRDER INSTALLATION TO CAUSE DELAYS ON STATE HIGHWAY 58 AND WASHINGTON AVENUE NEXT WEEK
JEFFERSON COUNTY– Next week, the Colorado Department of Transportation will install girders for the new Washington Avenue bridge over State Highway (SH) 58. As a result, there will be full closures of SH 58 as well as Washington Avenue during the evening hours.
The following closures will take place Sunday, July 20th through Thursday, July 24th:
Sunday, July 20th: All lanes of SH 58 and Washington Avenue will be completely closed from 6 p.m. to 5 a.m. Detour routes will be posted on both roads.
Monday, July 21st through Thursday, July 24th: All lanes of SH 58 near Washington Avenue will be completely closed from 7:30 p.m. to 5 a.m. Detour routes will be posted.
In addition, motorists should be advised that lane closures can also be expected on I-70 between Ward Road and 32nd Avenue and on SH 58 at 44th Avenue due to other road construction projects.
Delays are expected throughout the week and alternate routes are advised. CDOT would like to remind motorists to obey all construction signs and flaggers and to “Slow for the Cone Zone.”
Hamon Contractors, Inc. is the contractor for this $4.9 million bridge replacement project. The entire project is scheduled to be complete at the end of September 2009.
