TRAFFIC ADVISORY
STRIPING ACTIVITIES TO CLOSE I-76 EARLY NEXT WEEK

ADAMS COUNTY – On Monday, July 28th and Tuesday, July 29th, the Colorado Department of Transportation (CDOT) will have various single lane closures and full closures on I-76 and some ramps for striping and painting activities.

The following closures will take place on Monday and Tuesday:

Detour routes will be posted for each closure and motorists are reminded to obey all traffic signs and flaggers and to “Slow for the Cone Zone.”

The project is the final phase to improve the I-25/US 36/I-76/I-270 interchange and constructs a 2,200-foot long flyover ramp which will take motorists from eastbound I-270 to eastbound I-76. Currently, the only way motorists can access eastbound I-76 from eastbound I-270 is through southbound I-25.

Edward Kraemer & Sons, Inc. is the contractor for this $14.7 million phase, which will be complete by the end of November 2008. The new flyover bridge is expected to open to traffic in August 2008.
