TRAFFIC ADVISORY
CDOT MAINTENANCE CREWS TO CONDUCT WORK ON
STATE HIGHWAY 59 NEXT WEEK

YUMA COUNTY – On Tuesday, July 22nd and Wednesday, July 23rd, Colorado Department of Transportation (CDOT) maintenance crews will conduct a chip seal project on State Highway 59 between mileposts 84 and 89, which is approximately 10 miles north of Joes.

“A chip seal is a preventative maintenance process that helps preserve the existing pavement and prevents cracking and deterioration,” said CDOT Maintenance Supervisor Wes Templeton. “This type of project is important in maintaining our transportation system.”

During the project, motorists can expect single-lane alternating traffic from 6:30 a.m. to 6 p.m. each day. Flaggers and pilot cars will be used to direct motorists through the work zone.

CDOT would like to remind motorists to obey all construction signs and flaggers and to “Slow for the Cone Zone

The chip seal project should be completed by 6 p.m. on Wednesday, July 23rd, weather permitting.
