PROJECT UPDATE: CITY OF RIFLE ROUNDABOUT
I-70 at Exit 90, Eastbound On-Ramp Closure
Saturday, July 26, through Wednesday, July 30
RIFLE – The project to reconstruct and improve safety and capacity at the I-70 interchange at SH13 began in June 2008. The project involves the construction of two roundabouts to improve traffic flow through the area. In order to construct a new interstate ramp at this location, the City of Rifle & Martinez Western Constructors of Rifle will be closing the eastbound on-ramp from July 26 (early morning) through July 30. Variable message signs will alert traffic of this closure. Advised alternate routes are as follows:
US 6 & 24 into Silt
West from Rifle on US 6 & 24 to the West Rifle I-70 interchange # 87
South on SH 13 under I-70 to Airport Road, then east to the Garfield County Airport/Mamm Creek, I-70 interchange # 94
Signs on I-70, SH 13 and Airport Road will provide the traveling public with information regarding these alternate routes. Construction will continue into September of 2008. Martinez Western crews greatly appreciate motorists’ cooperation and safe driving during this construction.
