Nighttime I-70 Vail Overlay Project Community Information Meeting
A second community information meeting to discuss the Nighttime I-70 Vail Overlay Project has been scheduled for July 30th, 7pm at the Vail Town Council Chambers at 75 South Frontage Road in Vail, CO. Scheduled to attend are representatives from the Colorado Department of Transportation and A&S Construction Company.
“We have tried to be proactive in getting information out to the traveling public regarding this project,” said Gary Suiter of Suiter & Associates. “This type of community meeting is yet another way to try to proactively address the questions and concerns of the residents of the Vail Valley.”

Project Information:
The project area is between Dowd Junction and the East Vail Exit and is to address resurfacing and safety improvements.
The project is scheduled for completion by mid-September.
To lessen the impacts to the general public, all the work for the project will be performed at night. Work will be from 6:30pm to 6:30am, Sunday through Thursday.
Speed limits will be reduced to 40 mph during construction. Normal speeds will resume during daytime hours.
Stopping traffic will be kept to a minimum. Generally, one lane in each direction will be kept open during the entire project.
Uniformed patrols will be in the area and traffic fines will be doubled in the construction zone.
