CONSTRUCTION ON 4TH LANE/INTERCHANGE AT US 160 THROUGH
GRANDVIEW: TRAFFIC IMPACTS MINIMAL THIS SUMMER
SEMA Construction, Inc., is constructing a project for the Colorado Department of Transportation to widen US 160 at Grandview to the current intersection with US 550. This involves construction of a second westbound lane, and also includes partial construction of a new interchange with US 550, four new bridges and ramps east of the current intersection. The work was contracted to SEMA for $26.69 million; the total cost of the project (with preliminary engineering such as design, right of way, environmental work, etc.) is approximately $33 million.
CURRENT & UPCOMING CONSTRUCTION ACTIVITIES
TRAFFIC IMPACTS
SEMA Construction notes there will be minimal effects on daily traffic, but minor delays should be expected at times and commuters should plan extra time when driving through the area (as there is also concrete reconstruction on US 160 through Bodo Industrial Park this summer and next). Operations will be scheduled to minimize impacts during peak rush hours. Lane closures/restrictions on US 160 between Farmington Hill and Grandview may be as follows:
As construction progresses, complete closures of US 160 at night will be necessary. These closures will only occur between the hours of 9:00 P.M. and 5:00 A.M. Notification of these full closures will be provided at least 14 days in advance of the closures. Alternate routes will be posted.
The following information will help motorists in traveling through the area this summer:
