I-70 and SH 58 Interchange Project Construction Schedule

Below is a tentative schedule of major construction activities. This does not list all closures or activities and the schedule can change depending on weather.

2008

June 2008 - The ramp from eastbound SH 58 to westbound I-70 is open. The ramp from eastbound SH 58 to eastbound I-70 has been realigned and reconstructed. The ramp from Youngfield Street to eastbound I-70 has been realigned and reconstructed. The 40th Avenue underpass is approximately 80% complete and work is underway on the new ramp from eastbound I-70 to westbound SH 58.

2007

February 2007- The project begins with preparatory work, including irrigation work and signing. Traffic will not be impacted until the end of the month when crews begin median widening on I-70 and temporary alignments are required.

March 2007- Construction of the ramp from eastbound SH 58 to westbound I-70 begins. Traffic will be reduced from four 12-foot lanes to three 11-foot lanes and the bike path under the bridge will close during various construction activities. Work on this ramp will be completed in June 2007. Demolition is scheduled for March 7-13th and girder installation is scheduled for April 7th. Both activities will require the bike path under the bridge to be closed.

April 2007 – Drainage work on Youngfield Street begins and will continue through mid-June. Lane closures are expected.

May 2007 - Construction of the new ramp from eastbound I-70 to westbound SH 58 begins. Lane closures will be required at times. Construction of the new ramp will be complete in October 2008. The first girders will be installed in September 2007 with the first deck pour scheduled for February 2008.

June 2007 - Reconstruction begins on the ramp from Youngfield Street to eastbound I-70. Lane closures will be required on both Youngfield Street and I-70 through July 2007. Reconstruction also begins on the ramp from eastbound SH 58 to eastbound I-70. Lane closures can be expected on SH 58 and I-70 through March 2009.

November 2007 - Reconstruction begins on the ramp from westbound I-70 to westbound SH 58. Lane closures can be expected on I-70 and SH 58 through May 2008.
