Welcome to the Survey Manual Page The purpose of the CDOT Survey Manual is to define the minimum specifications that shall be followed while performing surveys for CDOT in order to secure an optimum degree of statewide uniformity, to establish and maintain survey standards, and to improve the overall efficiency of CDOT’s survey functions. This manual is not intended as a textbook on surveying, rather it provides a reference source for statewide surveying policies, procedures, and information. It is based on federal and state statutes, rules, policies, and procedures. By this manual CDOT strives to ensure the use of uniform procedures and the compliance with federal and state law to achieve an effective survey program. It is the responsibility of the user to adhere to this manual. The Survey Manual is a living document. Any changes to these chapters will be posted quarterly (January, April, July, October) unless a substantial change is made which requires immediate updating. It is the responsibility of the user to check for revisions. The following Survey Manual is effective as of October 24, 2003. |
