Update September 5, 2008**

OS/OW Loads are Prohibited from Travel when hazardous conditions exist.  Hazardous Conditions include SNOW, ICE, MUD, ROCKS, WIND and REDUCED VISIBILITY.  No Oversize Movement is EVER allowed where the Chain Law is in Effect.  Overweight only are allowed to chain up and proceed as conditions allow.  See Rule 2 CCR 601-4, 4-1, D.

NOTICE: August 23-30, 2008 Denver is hosting the Democratic National Convention.  Interstate 25 near downtown Denver including ramps and arterials will be impacted with restriction, detours and closures throughout the week.  Some detours and closures may occur unannounced and will be posted to www.CoTrip.org and on VMS signs along the roadways when made known.  Alternate routes to avoid the Denver downtown area are advised.  See the list below for known restriction currently announced.

Width, Height & Length restriction: No oversize permits may travel in the City of Sterling from 8 am to 9 am, 12 pm to 1 pm, and 5 pm to 6 pm every day of the week.  This restriction begins August 27, 2007 until further notice.

Exit 97 – City of Silt

Width restriction:  No permits over 12 feet may exit off of I-70 into the City of Silt and onto highway 6 beginning July 7, 2008 through October 1, 2008 due to the construction of a round about.  This restriction is 24 hours a day seven days a week.  The west Rifle exit # 87 must be used as a detour.  Do NOT use exit 90, or 105 to access hwy 6 as they run you directly into the restricted area.

MP 47 to 63 – Hartsel to Fairplay

No permitted loads from 6:00 am to 7:00 pm Monday through Thursday beginning August 14, 2008 through September 12, 2008.

No permitted loads from 6:00 am to 1:00 pm on Fridays beginning August 14, 2008 through September 12, 2008.

MP 77 to 83.0 – Hoosier Pass (South of Breckenridge)

Width restriction: No permits over 10 feet beginning May 16, 2008 through October 1, 2008.  This restriction is 24 hours a day seven days a week in both directions.

Exit 90 – City of Rifle

No permitted loads may use this exit off of I-70 onto hwy 13 beginning April 21, 2008 through November of 2008.  The west Rifle interchange may be used as detour.

MP 111 to 128 – 21 Mi. North of Craig to the WY Line (both directions)

Width restriction: No permit over 11 feet between the hours of 7:00 am to 7:00 pm Monday through Saturday beginning Wednesday May 21, 2008 to approximately October 17, 2008.

Loads wider than 11 feet may travel before 7 am or after 7 pm as long as there is sunlight.  There will be no restriction on the weekends.

MP 12.0 to 14.5  - 1 Mile S. of Trinidad to 1 Mile N. of the HWY 12 & I-25 Intersection

Width restriction: No permits over 12 feet in the north and southbound lanes.  This restriction is 24 hours a day seven days a week through the summer of 2009.

Height restriction: No permits over 15 feet and 10 inches.  This restriction is permanent.

Width restriction: No permits over 11 feet (southbound only) from 9 pm to 5:30 am.

Width restriction: No permits over 16 feet beginning immediately through the summer of 2009.  This restriction is from 9 pm to 5:30 am.

Lane Closures: Intermittent lane and ramp closures from 7:30 pm  to 5:00 am beginning May 4, 2008 through September 2008.  Alternate routes during working hours are advised.

Weight restriction: No permitted loads, legal weight loads only are allowed to cross these structures.  Refer to chart at the bottom of the restriction report.

Width restriction: No permits over 12 feet from 6 am to 6 pm Monday through Friday beginning Monday June 16, 2008 through September 30, 2008.

Width restriction: No permits over 14 feet. With new configuration of intersection load cannot make left turn from HWY 141 to HWY 50.  Suggested route is I-70 to exit 26 then east on HWY 50.

Length restriction: No permits over 90 feet traveling north on HWY 287 to eastbound HWY 50.  Loads in excess of 90 feet in length should travel westbound on HWY 50 to 287 north to HWY 96 east to HWY 385.

No permitted loads on this highway at all beginning immediately and continuing until further notice.  This is due to a deteriorating  bridge deck.   Please refer to the bridge restriction at the end of this restriction report.

Width restriction: No permits over 14 feet from 7:00 am to 5:00 pm Monday through Friday.  This restriction begins Monday August 4, 2008 until further notice.

Height restriction: No permits over 15 feet and 5 inches.

Width restriction:   No permits over 12 feet on the eastbound side from 8:30 am to 8:30 pm  and the westbound side from 6:00 am to 3:30 pm. There are no restrictions outside of these hours or on the weekends.

Width restriction: Loads that exceed 13 feet must have a certified pilot car in the rear.

116.80 to 119.00 – No Name Tunnels (Just E. of  Glenwood Springs Eastbound and Westbound). 

Width restriction: No permits over 14 feet beginning April 7, 2008 through Approximately October 31, 2008.  This restriction is 24 hours a day,  seven days a week.

Width restriction: No permits over 12 feet from 6 am to 8 pm Monday through Friday beginning September 9, 2008 through October 17, 2008.

Width restriction: Permitted loads over 11 feet must pull over to get permission to pass through the tunnel. 

Height restriction: Loads 13’11” tall or less may now travel through the Eisenhower Tunnel.

Width restriction: No permitted loads over 10 feet between the hours of  6:00 pm to 7:00 am Sunday through Friday.  

This restriction begins immediately through November of 2008.

Width restriction:  No permitted loads over 11 feet from 8 pm through  6:30 am Monday through Thursdays and 10 pm through 6:30 am on Sundays.  This restriction  begins August 18, 2008 through December 15, 2008.

Height restriction: No permits over 15 feet 9 inches.

Loads over 15 feet 9 inches tall may go around Structure G-22-BA at the junction of I-70 and HWY 24 by using the on/off ramp.

Width restriction: No permits over 14 beginning July 8, 2008 through November 1, 2008.  This restriction is also on highway 385 (Lincoln St.) at the intersection of I-70 and 385.
