Chronology of Past Construction

November, 1991-
The first U.S. 285 widening project began.

October, 1993-
Phase I construction was completed. U.S. 285 between Parmalee Gulch Rd. and Tiny Town was widened to four lanes and the Parmalee Gulch Flyover was constructed.
$8.7 million

June, 1994-
Phase II construction began on U.S. 285 between Tiny Town and Goddard Ranch Court.

November, 1996-
Phase II construction was completed. U.S. 285 was widened to four lanes between Tiny Town and Goddard Ranch Ct. and a new intersection was built at North Turkey Creek Rd.
$12.4 million

November 1998-
Started Phase IV of the continued widening of U.S. 285 to four lanes.  Ames Construction, Inc. of Aurora, was the contractor of this $22 million project.  During this phase of construction, U.S. 285 was widened  from two lanes of asphalt pavement to a four lane concrete highway between Settlers Drive and Eagle Cliff Road.  Project was completed in Spring 2002.

August, 1999-
Phase III widening was completed on U.S. 285 between Goddard Ranch Ct. and Settlers Drive (Mountain High Chapel).
