TRAFFIC ADVISORY
TRAFFIC REALIGNMENT TO CLOSE SOUTHBOUND I-25 TONIGHT

WELD COUNTY – Tonight, August 7th, the Colorado Department of Transportation (CDOT) will realign southbound I-25 between State Highway (SH) 119 and SH 52 onto the new concrete pavement as part of an ongoing widening project. To complete this work, there will be a full closure of southbound I-25 between SH 119 and SH 52 from 9 p.m. to 5 a.m.

During the closure, motorists on southbound I-25 will be taken off at SH 119 (#240) and over to the East Frontage Road and then over to SH 52 where access to southbound I-25 is available. Delays are expected and alternate routes are advised. CDOT would like to remind motorists to plan ahead, stay alert and “Slow for the Cone Zone.”

Tonight's work is part of a project that reconstructs and widens approximately five miles of I-25 in concrete from four lanes to six lanes between SH 52 and SH 119. The project also replaces the two structures at I-25 and Weld County Road 20

Flatiron Constructors, Inc. is the contractor for this $36 million project, which is scheduled to be complete in the spring of 2009.
