Contract Bidding

CDOT opened contractor bids on May 19, 2005. The apparent low bidder for the bridge replacement project, further described below, is BTE/Atkinson Joint Venture. BTE Concrete Formwork, LLC, is located in Glenwood Springs, Colorado. Further information on the project start date and schedule will be provided the first week of June.

The bridge project is located on Colorado State Highway 82 between mileposts 38.5 and 39.8, about one mile west of the city of Aspen .

The project includes the construction of roadway approaches and a major bridge structure to replace the existing historic Maroon Creek Bridge . The new bridge structure is a single cell cast-in-place segmental concrete box girder. The bridge will be about 616 feet long with three spans (two, 170-foot end spans and a 270-foot main span). The bridge width is 73 feet.
