Powers/Woodmen Project Logo   Project Schedule

January 2007 to November 2007 (Phase I)
Completed
Project began with initial mobilization measures including signage and barrier work. Daytime operations included utility relocates, bridge and box culvert construction. Night-time operations included drainage work, dirt hauling, and detour switchovers. Two right-turn lane closures were in effect at the intersection for approximately 10 months to accommodate the on-site detour which shifted all Powers Boulevard traffic to the east side of the Powers corridor and the south side of the Woodmen Road corridor. This facilitated the construction of southbound Powers Boulevard and westbound Woodmen Road.

November 2007 to June 2008 (Phase II)
Completed Ahead of Schedule
Phase II consisted of Five Steps.

June 2008 to August 2008 (Phase III)
Phase III of the Powers Boulevard/Woodmen Road Interchange Project will begin in early June 2008. It will start with a major traffic shift placing all traffic in their respective new roadway alignments. During this phase of construction, all traffic will be shifted to the outsides of both Powers Boulevard and Woodmen Road segments. The new northbound Powers Boulevard ramps for accessing both east and westbound Woodmen Road will be open. Final improvements during this phase will include completion of median work, removal of temporary cross-over pavement, highway lighting, paving of final asphalt, striping and seeding completion.

All impacts referenced above are subject to change and conditional upon resources and weather.
