Ruth Gargan, mother to Gregg Gargan (CDOT Staff Photographer), passed away October 2nd after a long battle with cancer. Visitation will be held on Monday October 6th from 5:00 to 7:00pm and funeral services will be held on Tuesday, October 7th, at 10:00am at Horan & McConaty Chapel, 1091 S. Raymond Schlup, father to Tom Schlup a TM II in Springfield for Region 2, passed away on Tuesday, September 30th. Graveside services are scheduled for Friday, October 3rd at the Springfield Cemetery at 2:00 p.m. The cemetary is located on US 160 two miles west of Springfield at milepost 462. Dominic Angel Salazar, 23 year old son of Debbie Salazar from Region 4's Greeley Storeroom, has passed away. Viewing will be Thursday, September 18, 4 - 8 pm at the Stoddard Funeral Home, 3205 W. 28th Street, Greeley Memorial Services will be Friday, 11 am at New Hope Christian Fellowship, 1900 AA Street which is north of Greeley at the old Monfort Corp. Bldg. AA Street is also Rd. 66 west of US 85. Financial donations can be made to the Stoddard Funeral home c/o Dominic Angel Salazar and would be greatly appreciated. Bruce McDonnall, who retired from CDOT in 1999 from Region 2, has passed away. Bruce was with the department for 36 years spending the last 16 years as the Resident Engineer in Lamar from 1983 until his retirement in 1999. A memorial service will be held on Monday, September 15, at 10:00 AM at the Valley Bible Fellowship, 1 Hermit Road, Silvercliffe, CO.

Elmer Stanton, CDOT retiree and father to Dean Stanton of Region 5 Maintenance in Durango, has passed away. Funeral services were held in Aztec at 9:00 am Wednesday, Sept. 10th at Cope Memorial Chapel, 405 South Main Street. The Burial will be held at 11:00 am at Greemount Cemetery in Durango. Elmer Stanton worked for CDOT for 20 years in Region 5 Maintenance in Durango. Our prayers go out to Dean and his family. Condolences may be sent to:

It is with sadness that we share the news of the passing of Dale Manchego, 55. Dale passed away suddenly on August 30th. Dale retired from the R-6 Right of Way Unit as a licensed land surveyor in 2007. He is survived by his Mother Lita, brother Steven E. and a sister Carla Manchego. Rosary will be held Monday September 8th, 7PM and Funeral Mass, Tuesday September 9th at 11AM Both to be held at Christ the King Church, 830 Elm Street. Interment to follow, 1PM at Fort Logan National Cemetery. The Family would like to invite guests to return to Christ the King Church for a reception at 2PM.
