PILOT CAR CERTICATION INFORMATION
Thank you for your interest in pilot car operations in the
State of Colorado. Pilot car operators are required to be
certified. Currently, Colorado is not offering the test for
certification as we move forward to enhance our program. Our goal is to offer our first class by late-August,
2007. To assist the industry, we will accept
certifications from Florida, Oklahoma,
Utah, Virginia
and Washington. (Below please find the contact information
for these states.)
To pilot escort in Colorado, you must have
the following documents contact our office to request items 2-5:
- A valid Colorado,
Florida, Oklahoma,
Utah, Virginia
or Washington
certification
- CDOT Rules & Regulations Booklet (tan book)
- Pilot Escort & Oversize Map
- Height Restriction Map
- Bridge Weight Limit Map
- Proof of insurance in the minimum amount of
$1,000,000 combined single limit coverage.
The proof must show that the insurance covers Pilot Escort
Operations.
