US 6/Wadsworth Boulevard Study
The Colorado Department of Transportation (CDOT) is conducting a study of possible improvements to the US 6 ( 6th Avenue ) and Wadsworth Boulevard interchange and to Wadsworth Boulevard from approximately 4th Avenue to 14th Avenue . The study is an Environmental Assessment (EA) and is anticipated to be completed in December 2008.

The Environmental Assessment is being prepared in accordance with the requirements of the National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA) of 1969. The NEPA process requires agencies proposing federally-funded transportation projects to integrate environmental values into the planning process, evaluate potential adverse and beneficial impacts of the proposed project, and consider mitigation measures that can avoid or minimize adverse environmental impacts. The NEPA process considers the social and transportation needs of the public.

Transportation projects typically involve a high level of public involvement and outreach. CDOT continues to actively seek input from agencies, businesses, residents, and stakeholders along the Wadsworth Boulevard corridor study area during the course of the study.
